"Musical adventures into words" blog Band review

from Musical adventures into words review

Just when you thought poppy, pretty, melody-strong, shiny happy music was a scarcity, Silent Alliance are keen saviours.

Sweet keyboards sweep over seductive boy-sung tunes with perfectly formed choruses worthy of instant sing-alongs. Guitars ring out chimingly to kinetic beats that have a distinct sniff of the New Order about them. There might also be a faint Cure-on-a-good-day hue or two at play.

Key songs are The Edge of Town with its mournful, hope-against-hope vibe that strikes emotive chords; and Hollow Talk wherein the band cheerfully pledge with all their might that they've been trying hard, trying hard to break your hearts yet inspire a giddy, gleeful dance-fest instead.

Thoughtful indie-dance-pop music of the brilliantly hummable and feet-first variety, hurrah!
